The pentagon comes from a nature conservation sign by Erna and Kurt Kretschmann: an owl in a house-like outline, introduced in the GDR and still standing at the edges of protected land today.HOUSE borrows that shape for the canvas. Inside it, the paintings look out of a window into sky or into leaves, mostly from around Dresden.Where the sign points inward at protected ground, the picture keeps its shape and points out.
